Introducing... Jeff Pawelek, B.S.
Jeff Pawelek is Director of Research at the San Diego Center for Spinal Disorders (SDCSD). After earning his of Bachelors of Science at San Diego State University, Jeff began his research career at the nationally ranked Department of Orthopedics at Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego in 2002.
Jeff has worked on a wide variety of spine-related research studies led by academic institutions, not-for-profit organizations, National Institutes of Health, and medical device companies. He has co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to over 30 paper and poster presentations at specialty society conferences. Jeff has been an Associate Fellow of the Scoliosis Research Society since 2006.
In addition to overseeing research at SDCSD, Jeff also manages the research activities of the Growing Spine Study Group, an international group of spine surgeons dedicated to improving the lives of patients with early onset scoliosis. Jeff also contributes to SDCSD’s educational programs, including the San Diego Spine Fellowship, SDCSD’s International Visiting Fellowship program, San Diego City-Wide Spine Conferences and the Scoliosis Research Society’s International Traveling Fellowship.
